- Payal Luthra is the Global Apparel & Textiles Lead at WWF, where she leads the organization’s global sustainability efforts in the apparel and textiles sector across freshwater, biodiversity, and climate and energy. In her role, she shapes strategy, secures transformational partnerships with apparel and textile companies, supports WWF’s on-ground projects with the textile sector in more than 10 countries, and represents WWF in global industry associations, initiatives, and communications. With a multidisciplinary background spanning fashion, architectural design, participatory planning, and consulting, Payal previously founded an ethical and sustainable fashion label that celebrated nature through design and actively supported conservation efforts. She studied at Sea Education Association at Woods Hole, MA, earned her BA from Colby College, and holds a Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
